Megan Boimann-Hennies is a passionate and dedicated educator impacting students' lives at Highlands High School in Kentucky. She has been inspiring young minds for over a decade with a solid commitment to fostering a love for learning.

Megan's journey as an educator has taken her through various roles, culminating in her current position at Highlands High School. Her classroom is known for its vibrant energy, where students are encouraged to explore their potential and develop critical thinking skills. She has taught AP World History, AP European History, and a “We the People” course. Megan’s We the People teams have represented Kentucky at the National Competition since 2008. Beyond academics, Megan is also involved in extracurricular activities, taking on the role of a mentor for the National Honor Society.

Ashley Vascik has an impressive 15-year tenure as an educator at Boonsboro High School in rural western Maryland. Currently specializing in teaching AP US Government and Politics, AP Comparative Government and Politics, and the course Taking Informed Action, Ashley leads her renowned We the People team.

Having been deeply involved in the We the People program since 2010, Ashley's students have continuously dominated the Maryland state competitions, clinching eight consecutive victories. As a testament to her expertise and dedication, she has also been a trusted We the People mentor teacher for Maryland and neighboring states, contributing to the Center for Civic Education's James Madison Legacy Project.

Ashley has made significant contributions to education throughout her career, serving as Department Chair and actively participating in the curriculum team for the district's mandatory US Government course. She has further elevated her impact as an AP Reader for the AP US Government exam since 2016 and has held the esteemed position of Question Leader since 2020.

Recognized for her commitment to excellence, Ashley is a National Board Certified Teacher and was honored as a 2022 Madison Fellow. When she is not shaping young minds, she indulges in her hobbies, which include reading, traveling, and leisurely walks along the historic C&O Canal.

Living in scenic Falling Waters, West Virginia, alongside her husband, Ashley is surrounded by natural beauty, including the serene Potomac River and iconic historic sites like Antietam Battlefield and Harpers Ferry.
